Globetrotters player meets with Rochester students

Local News

A member of the Harlem Globetrotters paid a special visit to the St. John Neumann School in Rochester Wednesday to help them celebrate National Kindness Week.

Students were able to meet the player as he presented the “ABC’s of Bullying Prevention.” The school’s principal says the assembly reiterates the message they’re trying to instill in the students.

“It’s just pretty much reminding students that we all live on one earth and we need to be kind and compassionate and respectful of each other,” said Principal Jackie Senecal, St. John Neumann School.

The principal says the Globetrotter visit was somewhat of a surprise because they applied for the team to visit last month — and hadn’t heard anything.

As we mentioned during a Golden Apple a few weeks ago, Maureen McGuire is a St. John Neumann alum.
