Geneva man allegedly leaves child in car for more than 30 minutes

The Ontario County Office of the Sheriff has reported that on Wednesday, Jason T. Roberts, 28, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child. 

The Sheriff’s Office said deputies discovered the crime as they were checking on vehicles that were parked in the fire lane at the Geneva Wal-Mart. 

Deputies say store video showed that Roberts had left his 8-month-old son unattended in his vehicle for approximately 37-minutes as he returned bottles and shopped. 

According to deputies, Roberts was issued an appearance ticket and released. He is to appear in Geneva Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.

Deputies say child protective services was also notified.
