Genesee Brewery workers cleanup riverway trail

Local News

The Genesee Brewery closed for the day — not because of production issues, but to give employees a chance to volunteer in the community.

More than 300 workers fanned out over the north side of Rochester. We caught up with some cleaning up the Genesee Riverway Trail.

The company explains why this annual event is so important.

“It’s a great way for us to give back,” said Lauren Christopher, associate public relations manager, Genesee Brewery. “Rochester supported us for decades and we’re really excited about this day.”

Volunteers also planted new trees and shrubs around Rochester and removed trash from properties.
