Gates police use Narcan to revive driver after crash

UPDATE:

The driver has been identified as 29-year-old Steig Hale, of Churchville.

Hale has been charged with DWAI, moving from lane unsafely, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Gates Police Department, Hale is on parole for burglary.

ORIGINAL:

Gates police revived a man with Narcan after he struck a telephone pole support wire on Buffalo Road Monday afternoon.

Police say the driver was traveling east on Buffalo Road when he crossed over the center line and struck a telephone pole support wire on the north side of the road.

Police found the driver unconscious, and revived him with Narcan.

The identity of the driver has not been released. 

Police say Buffalo Road will reopen soon. Multiple traffic lights on Buffalo Road, between Elmgrove Road and Pixley Road, are still out.

As of 5 p.m., RG&E reports that nearly 1900 customers are without power.
