A classing ‘The Sound of Music’ is back playing at the RBTL, but before they end their run this Sunday many of the cast and crew got to sit down with some local students.
Some 300 elementary students from the Florence Brasser Elementary School were able to talk to some of the major players of the Tony award winning musical.
Superintendent Kimberly Ward, talked about the importance of the students finding out about how the actors live and relate to them. “Here they’re seeing that their real people, that they have real lives and real interests. i think one of our questions is do you have pets at home, and who takes care of the pets while you’re here, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to just learn more about the actors and what it’s like to be on the road and traveling all over the nation with the sound of music show.”
Earlier in the week the students were treated to a special showing of the musical with their parents.
Only a couple of shows remain before they say, ‘so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, and goodnight.’
