Trash doesn’t stop for storms, and neither do the people collecting it.
Drivers at Suburban Disposal were out and about doing their jobs in the elements Monday. Being outside all day long certainly has its challenges. Driver supervisor, Jeff MacMullen said he can especially feel how cold it is when he’s riding on the back of the truck.
McMullen said there’s things you can do to help out drivers when they’re coming to pick up your garbage. One of those things is to make sure your driveway at the end here is plowed- and there’s reasons for that. If your driveway isn’t plowed, they have to try to pull your garbage totes out of snow banks, which takes longer and can be straining after awhile.
When you’re driving, always take note of garbage trucks pulled over the side of the road, especially in this weather.
