An event was held Wednesday night to raise money for EMT and Paramedic scholarships in Rochester.
The “Dinner with Friends” fundraiser is a sponsor specifically for the “Frankie Valente Scholarship Fund.”
The event was held at B. Good in Henrietta and included dinner specials, as well as door prizes and raffles.
Valente’s parents started the scholarship as a way to carry on their son’s memory.
Frankie Valente died suddenly this year at the age of 23 after recently becoming an EMT with AMR.
“What my wife Joyce and I really want to do is pay it forward and help EMT’s and paramedics, who actually save our lives everyday,” says Frankie’s father Tony Valente. “So it’s something that is obviously near and dear to our hearts but it’s something that emulates the appreciation and dedication that we want to show to this great bunch of first responders.”
Proceeds from the event benefit educational and training support and recruiting of candidates for EMT and Paramedic positions within the Rochester community.
