Four seriously injured after head-on crash in Wayne County

Wayne County deputies were called to a motor-vehicle accident that took place in Wolcott on Ridge Road early Saturday evening. 

Deputies say that 23-year-old Liborio McCauley Jr. of Walworth and his passenger 41-year-old Edward Leno of Savannah were heading eastbound on Ridge Road when McCauley allegedly passed another vehicle that was traveling eastbound on a double-solid line and struck another vehicle head-on in the westbound lane. 

McCauley was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital and Leno was transported by Mercy Flight to SMH for treatment of serious injuries. 

The driver of the vehicle heading westbound was 50-year-old Jonathan Sutton and his passenger 50-year-old Francis Alini both from Rochester. 

Sutton was transported by ambulance to SMH and Alini was transported by LifeNet to Upstate Medical University Hospital for serious injuries. 

The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff’s Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene.

The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff was assisted on scene by Wayne County Advanced Life Support, Sodus Town Ambulance Advanced Life Support, Lake Shore Ambulance, Eastern Wayne Ambulance, Fairhaven Ambulance, Mercy Flight, LifeNet, Alton Fire Department, North Rose Fire Department and Wolcott Fire Department.

The investigation remains ongoing.
