46-year-old Adam Mesiti was arrested Friday by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
Mesiti is facing a slew of charges, in which he’s accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old student from Holley High School back in 2014.
“It all occurred in the school on school property, in a school building,” Orleans County Undersheriff Christopher Bourke said.
Bourke said the investigation started about a month ago, after the student and her friends came forward to the school district with the allegations.
During the period of the alleged contact, the Holley School District hired COP Security, a firm that Mesiti worked for.
Undersheriff Bourke said Mesiti resigned immediately after the alleged incident.
Mesiti and his family now own Five Sons Winery in Sweden.
Authorities said Mesiti was also a former Brockport Police Sergeant.
“From what I understand, he retired a few years back from Brockport” Undersheriff Bourke said.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office said they have one suspect and one victim at this time, but they’re asking anyone else with allegations to come forward.
Mesiti is charged with ten counts of Rape in the Third Degree, twenty counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, and thirty counts of Sex Misconduct.
The Sheriff’s Office says that the Holley School District and C.O.P. Security fully cooperated with the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office during this month long investigation.
Mesiti was arraigned Friday afternoon in the Town of Murray Court, where his bail was set. In addition, an Order of Protection was issued for the victim in this matter.
Mesiti is scheduled to return to the Town of Murray court on March 22, at 5:15 p.m.
