Foodlink asks shoppers to “Check out Hunger”

Local News

Once again, grocery shoppers can help Foodlink “Check out Hunger.”

The annual fundraiser allows you to donate $1, $2, $3 or $5 by adding it to your grocery bill.

All the proceeds benefit Foodlink, the food bank that provides supplies to local food cupboards. Foodlink also runs several programs in an effort to end hunger.

The fundraiser runs January 30 through February 20.

You can donate at Tops Friendly Markets and the following independent grocery stores:

Abundance Cooperative Market, Rochester
Big M, Gates
Breen’s Market, Williamson & Palmyra
Caledonia Marketplace, Caledonia
Hart’s Local Grocers, Rochester
Hegedorn’s Market, Webster
Herrema’s Marketplace, Irondequoit
Lori’s Natural Foods, Henrietta
Perry Food Market, Perry
West’s Shurfine, Honeoye & Livonia
Combined with the Check out Hunger campaign at Wegmans stores in the fall of 2015, Foodlink hopes to raise $750,000.
