Flower City Habitat for Humanity raises wall for Orchard Street home

Local News

On Saturday, Flower City Habitat for Humanity and the Penfield Church Coalition came together to complete the 121 Orchard Street Wall Raising.

The frame of this home was prebuilt, during the ‘Framing Frenzy’ held by the staff of News 8 and Nexstar in June on our Founders Day of Caring celebrating 20 years.

This home is slated for completion this summer and has been made possible through funding from the Penfield Church Coalition which includes: East Penfield Baptist Church; Episcopal Church of the Incarnation; Faith Lutheran Church; First Baptist Church of Penfield; Holy Spirit RC Church; Penfield Presbyterian Church; Penfield United Methodist Church; Rochester Christian Reformed Church; St. Joseph’s RC Church; and Webster Presbyterian Church.

Flower City Habitat for Humanity says the ceremony represents the coming together of community volunteers and all the hard work that happens behind the home building scenes.
