Flower City Habitat for Humanity held it’s seventh annual fundraising event and gala Friday night at Village Gate on North Goodman Street.
This is the organizations largest fundraiser, bringing in more than $100,000 last year. Organizers hope to duplicate that figure this time around.
“It’s really about having fun,” said Karen Wozniak, chair of the Flower City Habitat for Humanity ROC Properties. “It’s about bringing people together for a wonderful neighborhood party to celebrate our community, and there is also a serious side. It’s about helping our community and building strength through building hope and shelter.”
The gala attracts hundreds of guests and features food and drinks from local favorites, like the Genesee Brewery, Zweigle’s and Cheesy Eddie’s.
