Flights cancelled to and from Rochester due to storm

Local News

More than half the flights to and from the Greater Rochester International Airport were delayed if not canceled on Sunday due to strong wind warnings.

Canceled flights included those heading to Rochester from Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Orlando, and several others.

David Briggs was trying to head back home to Austin, Texas- and had a long night ahead of him.

“Mother nature’s not cooperating right now so we’ll have to see if I get there or not.  I tried to fly out of Buffalo but the flight was cancelled there and I figured if I come back east a little bit maybe I can stay ahead of it but it’s pretty windy here,” Briggs said.

There is only one more flight heading out Sunday night- to Orlando, Florida. Every arriving flight until 9:10 Monday morning has been cancelled or delayed.
