Several safety measures are being seriously considered for Lake Avenue after a number of crashes, including a fatal one earlier in the week.
New York State, Monroe County and Rochester officials gathered off Lake Avenue Wednesday to talk about them.
They include a new traffic light, more crosswalks and better signage.
Rochester Councilmember Molly Clifford says more attention on the part of everyone is also required.
“We know people need to not speed so much, we know that bicyclists need to follow the rules of the road and pedestrians need to do so as well,” Clifford said.
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorcyclist earlier this week on Lake Avenue.
Alexander Inman knew the victim and says something needs to change.
“We’ve got these cars flying, trying to get work, trying get home and things happen,” Inman said.
