The Rochester Fire Department responded to a house fire on Raeburn Avenue Monday morning, around 9 a.m.

Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the back of a single family house. The fire was in the first floor in the kitchen, with some minor extension to the second floor. Firefighters say most of the fire was contained to the kitchen, and was placed under control at 9:23 a.m.

Firefighters say they received the call from a neighbor who saw smoke and called 911.

The tenants were home at the time and alerted by smoke detectors. Firefighters helped 1 tenant get out of the house. There were also 5 dogs and 5 cats at the home. Three cats were saved by firefighters, one was located by the owner and one is still missing. The Red Cross was called to assist 3 adults.

Firefighters say the fire is still under investigation.
