Firefighters made quick work of a house fire on emerson street in rochester at around 3:30 this morning.
Crews on the scene tell us the homeowner woke up to the sound of a smoke alarm — -and tried to put out the fire.
Firefighters had the flames under control a short time later. One woman and three children made it out safely. Luckily, no one was injured.
