People gathered at the Asbury Methodist Church in Rochester in support of gang intervention rehabilitation.
Father Gregory Boyle from Homebody Industries was the featured speaker. The topic of the event was the healing process and how former gang members can redirect their lives.
Homebody Industries is the largest gang intervention rehab program in the world, serving more than 15,000 people.
“I think people dedicate themselves all over again, to commit to fill the community of kinship, where people believe that belong to each other, and as soon as we feel that, then there is peace, justice, and equality,” said Father Boyle.
The priest believes educating the community in a way of tenderness will help people involved with gang violence heal faster.
