It could be one of the largest solar farm in the area: Forty acres in Farmington are proposed to become home to thousands of solar panels.
Supporters and opponents of a proposed solar farm out in Farmington are expected to speak at another public hearing Wednesday on the project that has been stalled.
If approved, the project would be built on land near Yellow Mills Road and Fox Road. The proposal by Delaware River Solar would include 22,000 solar panels at this site.
Delaware River Solar is looking for a special-use permit in order to build that solar farm on this land. The whole project has garnered a lot of attention and opposition from residents.
“Each of the meetings have grown larger in attendance,” says Ron Brand, Farmington’s director of planning. “We are getting somewhere around 100 to 125 people showing up… we’re trying to work it all out and make a fair decision.”
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the town highway garage. The public will be able to voice their opinions on the project.
