Family of five escapes house fire in Henrietta

A family is safe after an early-morning house fire in Henrietta on Thursday. Henrietta firefighters said the family was woken up by popping sounds.

The fire took place on Galway Drive at around 1 a.m.

The family discovered a fire in their garage. Firefighters said two adults and three children were able to escape. 

Nobody was injured. Firefighters said the family is in the process of moving and had their belongings stored in the garage. 

Firefighters contained the fire to the garage. Heat and smoke damage did damage the house.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
