Tears and outrage Monday night at a vigil held for a young mother who was murdered in Rochester over the weekend.
Police say Cheryl Jackson was stabbed in the neck and back multiple times on Saturday.
Her family says she was killed in front of her 3-year-old daughter.
Throughout the day family members placed photographs and balloons outside the apartment complex on North Clinton Avenue where the crime took place.
On Monday Night her family lit candles, said prayers, and reminisced about Jackson.
Jamar Jackson, Cheryl’s brother, said they could always count on her.
“Her being around me. Her energy was life. Anybody, I don’t care if she made you mad you were still happy she was there for you, you feel me she ain’t never, never violate anybody. She had her ways she was the best person in the world to me man,” said Jackson.
The man accused of stabbing Cheryl to death, Ronald Pilgrim Jr., was arraigned on a murder charge Monday. He uttered the words “I did it” as he was being led out of the courtroom.
