Spencerport assistant principal placed on administrative leave after video at Daniel Prude rally in Rochester

SPENCERPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — Many families in the Spencerport Central School District are outraged after a video of the Ninth Grade and Academy Assistant Principal Steven Lysenko was shared on Facebook during a rally demanding justice for Daniel Prude while supporting the Black Lives Matter movement on Friday evening.

In the video, Lysenko expressed his thoughts when members of the Rochester Police Department sprayed tear gas at protesters.

Much of Lysenko’s remarks expressed how displeased he was with the RPD on how they treated those in the crowd.

The Spencerport Central School District released an update on their website Monday, stating that Lysenko has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation.
