A check was presented to Golisano Children’s Hospital Thursday night by the organizers of the Fairport Music Festival.
The organizers presented a check totaling more than $203,000 to the hospital. The donation was raised from the 12th Annual Fairport Music Festival event.
The festival is one of the hospital’s largest community fundraising events and featured more than 30 bands on four different stages.
“Money is ultimately important but, as important, is the fact that we hold this quality event and the event gets associated with the Golisano Children’s Hospital so that aspect of it can’t be short changed at all,” said Co-Organizer Andy McDermott. “The fact that this is an event about celebrating the care of our children.”
The event has raised more than $1.3 million for the hospital and has funded the new cardiac surgical suite, which opened late last month.
