The Eastman School of Music hosted the U.S. Army Field Band Tuesday night.
The band performed “The ArmyStory,” which brings the audience music that has had a significant impact on American culture and the perception of soldiers’ lives. Through the musical and visual elements, the story reminds Americans of the contributions, service, and sacrifice of our soldiers.
Staff Sergeant Kaci Cummings is a french horn player with the band.
“Yes the music we play typically covers a story range and we love to tell the story how the army came to be and the most important aspects of it and to really pay tribute to our veterans and the civilians that also supported a veteran or an enlisted member,” said Cummings.
The band is made up of 60 members plus a 29-member chorus.
