Wednesday night the Eastman Community Music School celebrated the completion and reopening of Messinger Hall.
The project was in dedication of the Karen Rettner Community Music Center. There was over $2 million in renovations done. The renovations included an addition to the new keyboard lab, classrooms, 24 teaching studios, percussion and drum set studios, and designated waiting space for the parents.
The Messinger Hall was originally dedicated in 2005 by the University of Rochester alumnus Martin E. Messinger and was named in memory of his mother Anne Waltuck Messinger. The main contributes of the new renovations were Eastman School of Music Nation Council Member Karen Rettner and her husband, University of Rochester Trustee Ronald Rettner.
