East High School Students gave back to the community on Wednesday, by preparing Thanksgiving meals for people in need.
Wegmans donated the food as part of a statewide Thanksgiving drive, including turkeys and all the traditional fixings like stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy.
The meals are expected to feed up to 1,200 people in the greater Rochester area.
“I love to work with food,” said Trevell Thomas, one of the students who took part. “I like to see the smile on people’s faces when they eat it, and I like the feeling of lifting their spirits up.”
The meals will be delivered to families on the morning of Thanksgiving Day.
