East High School students, community members plant heart-healthy garden

Local News

East High School students and other members of the community came together on Thursday to plant vegetables, fruits, and flowers in the school’s first teaching garden.

The American Heart Association is giving East’s culinary students the chance to improve heart health by planting this healthy garden.

“It means a lot, and seeing people do this for our class means a lot because people are taking time out of their day to do this for us, and it’s exciting,” said student Majestyk Tramel.

The students will be responsible for maintaining and caring for the 2,000 square foot garden.
