Earthquake rumbles under Lake Ontario this afternoon

A 2.4 magnitude earthquake occurred under Lake Ontario at 5:27 pm Tuesday afternoon.

The quake was 10 km (6.2 miles) under the lake and was centered 25 miles east of Toronto.

This follows another earthquake that happened under the lake just last Friday that measured a magnitude of 1.5.

As of 7:30 pm Tuesday there were no reports of damage from today’s earthquake.
