Eagle Scouts spend spring break making ‘gaga pit’ at Spencerport school

Local News

SPENCERPORT, NY (WROC) — On Thursday, a group of Eagle Scouts are working to build something called a “gaga” pit at the Canal View Elementary School in Spencerport.

“Gaga” is very similar to dodgeball and has become very popular with many summer camps. Members of the Eagle Scouts began work Wednesday — spending their time and money to help create this new piece for the school.

Liam Kwoka, who came up with the idea, says its his chance to give back.

“We’re just trying to give back to the community and just what they give for us and I thought this would be cool because our whole family has gone to this school and kind of give back to them,” Kwoka tells us.

Kwoka says that the planning process took a while but the process was well worth it.
