Drunk driver collides with Gates police car

Just before 9 pm on Thursday, Gates Police say a car was traveling north on Elmgrove Rd. That’s when a vehicle pulling out of the Panorama Bar parking lot drove in front of the police car and caused a crash. 
There were no injuries in the collision. 
Leonard Dionese, 59, of Chili, was arrested for DWI with a Blood Alcohol Content of .16%. He was charged with DWI and failing to yield the right of way. 
Gates Police say they average 1 crash per year where police vehicles collide with a drunk driver. The Gates Police Department has made roughly 125 arrests for DWI in 2016, which is ahead of 2015.
