Reports of two to potentially a dozen dogs were left out in the freezing cold in Lyons. Wayne County residents told News 8 that after spending hours in the cold, the dogs were supposedly moved inside.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says deputies visited the owner on Middle Sodus Road after receiving dozens of calls regarding animal abuse.

Neighbors posted videos of the dogs on Facebook. Many were urging other people to call Wayne County’s 911 center and Wayne County Dog Control Officers; saying it was too cold to be keeping animals outside.

News 8 tried to reach out to the owner, but he refused to comment.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has yet to give more information.
