DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Police have arrested 32-year-old William Wood Jr. and charged him in the DeWitt Chili's robbery that left two employees dead early Saturday morning. He faced two first-degree murder and first-degree robbery charges.
DeWitt Police say 32-year-old William D. Wood Jr. of Syracuse was arrested around 1 a.m. Sunday in Fulton, after DeWitt Police and New York State Police, executed a search warrant.
He is currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
Managers confirmed Wood worked at the Ruby Tuesday's in Carrier Circle and was fired a week ago.
A Chili's Grill & Bar spokesperson released the following statement:
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic situation and the loss of two of our Team Members. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement officials who were quick to respond. During this difficult time, our focus is doing everything we can to support the families affected and our ChiliHeads at the DeWitt restaurant."
