The death of a woman, whose body was found Monday in Batavia, has been ruled a homicide, deputies say.
According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, the woman’s body was found Monday morning, just before noon, at The Sunset Motel on West Main Street.
Deputies say they determined the death was suspicious and secured the scene. An autopsy Tuesday determined the woman had been killed by a cut to her carotid artery.
The victim has not yet been identified. Deputies are working to notify her next of kin.
