An Ontario County woman is facing charges of animal cruelty after deputies say she left her dog behind after being evicted.

Investigators say Leah Coleman, age 27, was evicted from a home on Castle Street in Geneva on May 24. The following day, the Humane Society was called to the residence for a barking dog.

At the home, deputies say, they found the dog, Nala, tied to the porch without food or water.

The Humane Society found the dog had a severe skin condition due to neglect and unsanitary living conditions.

Coleman is now charged with animal cruelty, animal abandonment, and failure to provide food/water to an impounded animal.
