Every Sunday, Jon Seiger puts on a jazz performance at Funk ‘N Waffles restaurant that many say is hard to miss.

Seiger is one of few deaf musicians who plays the keyboard and trumpet. He’s played with some of the best, like jazz legend Roy Eldridge but has remained humble.

“There used to be jam sessions after just about every gig. At a blues club or a jazz club, musicians would show up and ‘hey can i join you for a tune or two?’ and you’d have new people playing. That’s kind of lost. There’s not much of that so here we got it going every week. We got people who are 16-years-old or 80-years-old joining,” said Seiger.

You can check out Seiger and guests Sundays at Funk ‘N Waffles on N. Water Street in Rochester.
