Datto founder Austin McChord is stepping down as CEO, the company announced Tuesday.
In a release, Datto, a company that specializes in data back-up services that has an office in Rochester, says Chief Operating Officer Tim Weller will take over as the board searches for a new leader.
While stepping away from day-to-day management, McChord, who went to school at RIT, will remain with the company and on its board.
“I founded Datto 11 years ago in a basement. What started out as an entrepreneurial dream, has grown into a team of 1,400 employees serving more than 14,000 Managed Service Providers with reach in 132 countries,” writes McChord in a statement. “I’m proud of the company we have built and our commitment to the MSPs we serve. Datto is positioned better than ever to continue serving partners and growing.”
