To kick off Cure Childhood Cancer’s Go Gold campaign, a gold flag was raised on Wednesday at the Radisson hotel in Rochester.
The September campaign raises awareness for childhood cancer, and the association is asking folks to do the same and show your support.
You can raise a gold flag, display gold lights, or string gold ribbons at your home or business to let others know it is childhood cancer awareness month.
“Months like September are incredibly important,” said executive director Holly Dutcher. “The childhood cancer awareness ribbon color is gold and our children are precious just like gold. We want everyone in the community to know how important this is and if we increase awareness, then funding and research will come through and we will have a cure for cancer.”
Cure helps nearly 800 families right here in Western New York.
