Court adjourned in case involving a teen plotting attack to Islamberg

Local News

The teen accused of plotting an attack to Islamberg last month was expected to be in family court Wednesday afternoon, but it was adjourned as more charges are expected to be added in the case according to the Assistant District Attorney. Nicholas Pheilshifter, 16, along with Brian Colaneri, Vincent Vetromile, and Andrew Crysel face six felonies and five that include terrorism charges.

Court documents indicated that Pheilshifter communicated with the other three men through the app Discord and communicated in chatrooms labels as “leaders only” and “militia soldiers wanted” between September 2018 and January 2019. It also indicates they messaged about obtaining and using weapons against Islamberg.

Some residents from Islamberg drove all the way to Rochester to see the suspect in court.

“We wanted to make sure justice is served and we intend to be here for all of the court dates that they have for the defendants,” said Khadijah Smith resident of Islamberg.

Pheilshifter is expected to be arraigned and has a pre-hearing on March 11th. Pheilshifter faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

The other three men are due back in court on March 7th. Their case was waved to a grand jury.
