Fonda and Donald Carr have been married for 44 years. In that time they’ve certainly had some ups and downs.
“We had the explosion the house ignited. It was gone,” said Fonda.
A year after their house exploded, and they’re finally back home.
“Loving it, loving it, there’s no place like home,” said Fonda.
It’s an entirely new home, just on the same property, since nothing was left of their former house after the explosion last Christmas morning. The holidays this year the Carr’s say, was much better.
“Well there wasn’t any fire and this year was a miracle we went to our daughter’s house and we were just so grateful,” said Fonda.
The other miracle, Fonda says, is how the community rallied around them.
“Some were people we know, others we didn’t and people were wonderful. You always hear about bad people, but people’s hearts are very good,” said Fonda.
A GoFundMe page for them raised more than $26,000 which they put towards rebuilding.
“It would have been a lot more difficult so with everyone’s help, it really made a tremendous difference,” said Fonda.
