The Corning Museum of Glass is preparing for a new exhibit to open about Tiffany’s Glass Mosaics. In preparation of the opening on May 20th, a glassblower stopped by the News 8 studio for a demonstration.
While many know of Tiffany’s lamps and windows, few have seen his collection of mosaics.
To compliment the exhibit there will be Tiffany-inspired glass-making demonstrations and a make-your-own glass fusing projects.
The world’s largest glass museum, families who visit the Museum of Glass will be treated to a day of fun and entertainment when they visit. It’s just 2 hours south of Rochester and is open from 9a.m. to 5p.m. daily. They will have extended hours this summer from Memorial Day through Labor Day, opening until 8p.m.
If you can’t make it to the museum, the GlassBarge is coming to you! The museum is launching a new mobile glass-making venue for Canal Days in Fairport June 2-4.
