‘Coaches Care’ contest aims to teach students safe driving habits

Local News

The New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee has announced a contest to help young drivers develop good habits behind the wheel.

The “Coaches Care” program recruits leaders from athletic programs around the state who agree to help teach students.

The campaign aims to reduce crashes —  the leading cause of death for teens and young adults.

The contest runs from now until April 30, 2018. School districts must register by Nov. 1

Schools could win one of three $3,000 cash prizes.

For official contest rules, registration or to request materials, visit the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee Young Driver Toolkit.
