Clearing sidewalks for people with disabilities

Local News

One group of people who need clear walkways are those with disabilities.

The City has been working tireless to clear roadways and sidewalks on a priority basis. In fact, they contacted the Center for Disability Rights on Monday to learn where those “must-clear” locations are.

“We’ve asked people to contact us if there’s areas that they need to get through for the city, but I think because we’ve identified priority areas with the city already,” said Stephanie Woodward, Director of Advocacy for the Center for Disability Rights. “Those areas are being addressed more quickly, and really alleviating a lot of stress for people.”

The City goes out and clears the area once there is an accumulation of more than four inches of snow on the ground.
