People in Rochester were able to weigh in on the Rochester City Budget. The mayor was on hand to field suggestions about everything from City services, to City schools, and safer neighborhoods.
Lovely Warren said her role is to help people put budget priorities into context.
“About 70% of tax dollars that we collect automatically goes to the school district,” said Mayor Warren. “That’s 30% that we have to work with to provide for recreation centers and libraries and police services and fire services and DES.”
Mayor Warren will submit a budget to City Council on May 19. City Council votes on the budget June 20.
