Rochester City Council has approved a developer’s plan to redevelop Cobbs Hill Village, a senor housing facility on Norris Drive.  The plan’s been controversial because not all of the units match the very low rent offered by the current facility, which consists of several single story buildings. The new facility would be much larger, with six buildings, each 2-and-3 stories tall.  Some critics have filed a lawsuit to try to block the project.
Cobbs Hill Village will include 104 apartments. The developer is Rochester Management. Construction will begin later this year.
