A grand jury has again indicted Charles Tan on gun charges in a case related to the death of his father.
Murder charges against Tan were previously dropped following a 2016 trial. But, last year, federal prosecutors brought gun charges against Tan concerning how the weapon used in the shooting was obtained.
Prosecutors said Tan had a college friend buy the shotgun at the Cortland Walmart after Tan was denied the sale.
Tan was initially indicted on the same charges in September 2017. It’s not clear why a new indictment was issued Thursday.
Again, Tan pled not guilty to those charges. He is set to face trial in coming weeks.
