A changing of the guard: Two mounted patrol horses with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office were gifted to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol Unit in a special ceremony Tuesday afternoon.
The exchange went a long way in helping Livingston County expand their mounted patrol unit. It also ensured that the horses could stay on the job.
“It’s fantastic. It’s going to make our unit bigger and better and stronger and it’s also pretty awesome that another sheriff’s office can turn over the reigns to us to keep these horses working – that’s what they like to do.”
The event was also attended by the Monroe County, Rochester and Wayne County mounted patrols.
