Car break-ins reported at a Chili park

Local News

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies have not yet found the suspects responsible for car break-ins in Chili.

It happened Wednesday at Union Station Park on Rock Island Road. Deputies say sometime between 10:45 a. m. and 12:20 p.m. someone smashed in a window on two different cars.

Parents at the park say they’ll pay closer attention to their surroundings from now on.

“I’ve tucked my stuff in a bag here so nothing happens to it,” Ron Selvidge told News 8.  “You think you’re going to a park and you’re going to have a good time with your family and it’s a safe place, and some bad things are going on, not good to hear.”

A purse was stolen from one of the cars that was broken into. It contained credit and debit cards.
