Canadian man killed in crash in LeRoy

A Canadian man died and two other people were hurt after a crash in LeRoy early Sunday morning.

Officers say a 21-year-old man from St. Catherines was headed north on Route 19 around 3:30 a.m. when he went off the road at a curve in the road near Wolcott Street.

The vehicle hit a concrete island before going airborne and hitting a home on Clay Street.

Fire crews worked for 45 minutes to get the three people out of the vehicle. The front seat passenger, 22-year-old Jamel Love, of Thorold, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 22-year-old backseat passenger and the driver both suffered serious injuries. They are being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital. Police have not yet identified them.

State police are assisting the LeRoy Police Department in the investigation into the crash.
