A Brighton woman and a Rochester artist are spreading kindness one postcard at a time.
After being in a slump, business owner Jordan Betts says a friend brought by a little piece of paper with an inspiring message on it.
“She dropped off this little piece of paper and it was like ripped off of something, and she put it on my door,” explains Betts.
That simple act of kindness has inspired Betts to do something to help others. She contacted Rochester artist Kyle Jackson and the two worked to create postcards with positive messages meant to brighten other people’s day. “I chose a piece that showed a woman actually enjoying her own being.”
Happiness in yourself, Jackson says, can bring happiness in others. “It’s always good to know that there’s something within you that will make you smile, and in return, maybe that smile will make someone else smile.”
The Positivity Initiative is looking for businesses to sponsor the project and hand out the notes to those who need them.
