A blood drive was held Thursday in honor of the five girls from Fairport High School who lost their lives in a crash in 2007.
The crash happened less than a week after Hannah Congdon, Bailey Goodman, Meredith McClure, Sara Monnat and Katie Shirley graduated.
The blood drive has been held for the past seven years as a way to remember their generous and giving spirits and to give hope to others.
“There are people who will be in need and we desire to do something to keep the girls in our daily lives so this is something we can gather round our friends and family can do it and you know it will go for a good cause,” Diane McClure, Mother of Meredith McClure.
The blood drive was held at St. John of Rochester Church in Fairport. To date, it has collected more than 200 units of blood which has helped hundreds of patients.
