Beach Cleanup at Ontario Beach Park

Local News

It’s not often that we get to spend an October Day at the beach, but that’s what some local people did on Saturday.

Nearly a dozen volunteers stopped by Ontario Beach Park to clean up trash. Volunteers tell us they found a lot of cigarettes, bottles, bags and plastic which they plan to use in a creative way.

Kevin Nash is a junior at the College at Brockport who took part in the operation.

“Each club around the college is collecting plastic and whatever else we clean up. We’re giving it to the art department actually and we’re going to be making a sculpture out of it,” said Nash. “There’s a lot of trash out there that needs to be picked up. I know there are a lot of people out there trying to help out but I think there needs to be more.”
